WPA Approved Treater

in-house timber treatment plant

What it means to be a WPA Benchmark treater

We have our own in-house timber treatment plant using tried and tested industrial wood preservatives operated by our own highly trained and experienced employees. Our management systems ensure that we impregnate wood products with the correct amount of preservative for its end use.

The treatment recommendations we follow for ground contact products are set by the Wood Protection Association (WPA) and are designed to achieve the 15- or 30-years desired service life performance specified in the British Standard for treated wood, BS8417.

We have invested heavily to ensure our wood treating operations deliver quality products that meet customer expectations for performance service life. But don’t just take our word on this. To ensure we consistently produce treated wood in compliance with BS8417 we subject our treatment operations to verification by independent audit. This makes us significantly different to the businesses focused on selling big volumes of green treated wood, often imported and produced to a price rather than end use performance.

We are audited under the WPA Benchmark quality assurance scheme . This independently certifies that we follow the recommendations of the WPA to comply with BS8417 performance requirements.

For wood products used outdoors where the risk of decay in ground contact is vital and so the WPA Benchmark audit also verifies the compliance of a range of our individual fencing products with BS8417 – you can take a look at the products on our WPA Benchmark certificate.

WPA Benchmark Certificate

The next time you are looking for treated wood don’t risk buying a product that doesn’t come with independent end use and service life information and accreditation. Ask us about WPA Benchmark certificated timber – it’s treated wood that can be trusted.
